Oh how an amalgam of Blondie, early Cure & The Smiths would twist my soul into new shapes right now. Well heelllooooo ladies!!! What is this dinky troupe of yours called then? "The Organ" ? Phwoar fnarr fnarr etc. Well I like this tons. Sad, beautiful & heartbreakingly comforting in production, pace & power, 'Brother' is simply some of the finest bits of all those great bands melted down into a charming trinket to treasure. I mean, I feel like firing the likes of Editors really. They blandly steal from the past but offer nothing remotely new. These fine ladies just make you realise how fragile the human spirit is whilst shaping perfectly formed mini classics.
