We all kind of like Be Your Own Pet here. They create about as much fun as you can fit in 2 minutes as physically possible without using microwaves, rubber gloves or your penis (if you've got one). It's called Adventure and the cover has 'em all dressed up all deadly and adventuring (entertaining) as is the CD disc itself which is a plate of carrots. A winner in my book. They write fast frenetic catchy jerky kick ass tunes and this is no exception. Ant has just said it reminds him of No Doubt's Just A Girl and I think he's right. Who'd have thought that then?? Give 'em 2 more albums before the woman in the band (possibly called Jemina but I couldn't work it out being a simpleton) is doing Loreal adverts....

About the humble 7":

The humble 7" is the smallest of the vinyl formats (not including the ridiculous 5") and it's the perfect medium for transporting a couple of new songs by up and coming bands straight into your ears. They're fun and they take up less space in your house than something bigger would. They come in a plethora of exciting colours and fantastical packages, and you can fit about 14 minutes onto one 7". You may have to get up every few minutes to put a new record on but think of the exercise. Don't forget every record you buy plays at least 2 speeds (depending on your stereo) and you need to play all records on all speeds to get the maximum joy from your purchase.
