Continuing the theme of releases in a series, the second in the Keep Mother Series on Fire has landed, again on 10" and numbered out of 500. This is a split by Carousel and Dave Cloud and thankfully doesn't make me want to slit my wrists. Dave Cloud's gruff voice sounds not unlike Captain Beefheart and is apparently lyrically inspired by the music of Rudy McNeely. The acoustic fumbling sounds like he's hung over. Carousel's track doesn't do an awful lot for me until a sitar comes in giving it a psychedelic edge, Its completely unexpected. Its played fantastically well and sounds like its weeping. I might take this home over the weekend and cry into my curry over it.Be the first to review this record. Best reviewer each month gets £10 off their next order!
