The Mile End Ladies String Auxiliary
From Cells of Roughest Air
A Norman Records recommendation (28th November 2006)

This record left our Brian feeling ecstatic.
Ooooh now we have a highly limited, screen printed jobbie in by A Silver Mt Zion offshoot The Mile End Ladies String Auxiliary. On vinyl & CD. Starting off with a bout of luscious neo classical chamber music, all haunting, compelling strings before getting all discordant & evil on my ass. There's moments of real Rachels/Richter/Tiersen beauty but more jarring & perverse like they want to feel your neck muscles tense up & your teeth grate to increase the drama. Phat Phil says it's reminiscent of 'The Strings' EP by Kristen Hersh but without her vocal histrionics 'From Cells Of Roughest Air' comes from Bangor records & is limited to 500 on each format (CD/10") & lavishly packaged so there.
