Ai records next. Well I've proper enjoyed everything so far today yet initially this once mighty IDM label continues to elude my affections with It's 1st proper new comp in rather a while. You know my argument (& this goes for fellow travelers Modern Love too) & that is I just don't like house beats much & these guys seem to follow the ambient lounge house route a little too often. I like clanking bendy, warped electro & splintered experimental techno, not music to soundtrack ponces like Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen flouncing round Biarritz. But don't despair. That's only the opening track. There's choice cuts from the lovely Tomcats In Tokyo, Biologic, Sensiva & Pathic amongst other newcomers. With some of this new breed you get blissed ambient electronica, downtempo techno, eccentric chill out breaks & yes, a little more music to keep the producers of 'Holiday '08 ' untroubled for another year. The picture disc (oh yes, collector boys!) is apparently 2 pieces of 90g vinyl glued together so therefore excellent quality but then some of you'll want to file it away in a thick PVC sleeve & sell it on e-bay as "mint - unplayed" to someone really wealthy in Japan or America in 3 years time, won't you? ;0] It's limited to 500 copies Oh also on boring old (but cheap!) CD too.Be the first to review this record. Best reviewer each month gets £10 off their next order!
