Four Tet (Fourtet)
Everything Ecstatic Part 2

This record left our Phil feeling unmoved.
I watched the Four Tet interview on the last Specialten DVD and
decided he seems like a lovely man. I also decided (at that very same moment) to
never give one of his records a bad review cos he seems too nice and, if I upset
him, the guilt would tear through me like Geoff Capes ripping up phone
books. So here I am with his new album and after the opening statement you
know I'm gonna say it's good even if it isn't. Fortunately I do think it's
rather good and after multiple listens it's more aggressive and raucous that
previous outings. Less folky and more big crashing drums ala bang bang. I play
the drums myself so I understand the technicalities and am allowed to utilise
phrases like bang bang. If you buy the vinyl they nicely chuck a copy of the CD
in for you. This is a limited while stocks last and then the vinyl reverts back
to not including the CD. I don't think I phrased that well but what I'm trying
to say is it makes sense to buy the LP as you get the CD with it!Ps the above is a review for the album. In this case lazyness seemed like the good option cos the whole concept of the release seemed quite lazy....
