Paavoharju
Yha Hamaraa

This record left our Phil feeling happy.
One more for you before we crack on is a new CD by Paavo Harju on Fonal records which is simply stunning. I don't have time to give it a full review but it's all over the place from twisted folk to opera to electronica. You may remember the Islaja CD that came out a while back on the same label. Same kind of wonderfully interesting experimentation while not being wholly up it's own arse which is the perfect combination.

What their label says...
We created this record during 2001-2005. Also many other things happened. Mostly "Yhä hämärää" is trying to reflect inner landscapes. Ofcourse concrete places are forming and partly creating those inner views. Some highly inspiring places: Durde, densis, my home, Pöllänlahti, toilet, graveyard, sewers, disco, the beach at redpoint, rooftops at night, alcoholic's home, churches, Uukuniemi, foggy fields, sauna, my bed. Everything the light touches (and doesn't touch) is our kingdom. We like "Yhä hämärää" very much.
