Apparently Steve Reid has played drums with Sun Ra. Which makes sense as after I heard his new album with Kieran Hebden the other day I thought it sounded like a more cosmic Elvin Jones kind of free Jazz drumming thing going on. I suspect this has been improvised and will appeal to fans of Ornette Coleman, Sun Ra, & John Coltrane but also to the folk who dig Fourtet. Plenty of creative vibes emmiting for the session and Hebden does a fairly decent job at providing the weird electronics.
