Envelopes - Free Jazz

Free Jazz by Envelopes

Envelopes are a right ole crazy proposition. That 1st single was a craze-a-thon unlike anything I can remember. Their new single (Free Jazz) is as inspired to be honest. I can't think of another band as wonky and as off the the all yet with such a talent for pop tunes. If anyone has any suggestions let me know please. This new single is well bum and if you don't get a copy you must be stupid or summat. Marvellous...

Includes: Put On Hold & Pink Christmas
Has Sweden ever, over the two zillion years since the conception of the universe, produced a less-than-decent art-pop band? The latest export are the rather more-quirky-than-usual Envelopes. Borrowing it's erm, inspiration from Trio's Da Da Da, Free Jazzis as spiky and wilful as the title suggests, with singer Audrey yelping lines like 'I see these brand new faces, I want to wear them' amid an irresistable kitsch-tronic onslaught. Catchy as cooties. NME
