J Xaverre
These Acid Stars

This record left our Clint feeling happy.
First up the long awaited album from J Xaverre also known as the little Kenickie feller all those years ago. This is pleasant lo-fi yet polished pop in the Brave Captain mould with a tidy electronic/acoustic sound. There's something about the opening track 'Saturday' that I like - it took ages to grow on me but now I like it. I'm now half way through the album and I'm falling asleep. It is all sounding a bit samey and a bit too polished. But These Acid Stars could well be a grower as the guy can obviously dream up some good tunes. On Memphis Industries. The LP has a free 7" with exclusive tracks not on the CD.
