If you are as old as I am you probably fancied one or both of Lush when you were younger. I mean who else was there for the discerning, painfully shy, gangling indie kid - Tanita Tikaram???? Anyway the other one from Lush is back with another very smartly dressed lady in tow and a new album (their second I think) under the name of Sing Sing. Fats asked me yesterday who this would appeal to? The immediate guess is forward thinking Saint Etienne fans, people who miss Adventures in Stereo or Birdie; Broadcast or Ladytron fans wanting something a bit less wierd, fans of 60's fronted girl - pop re-imagined for the post ipod generation. Its an album full of good songs and a I must give a shout to producer Mark Van Hoen for some great production ideas that probably only muso types like me will notice but makes the album sound very fresh.
