Having recently played some of my favourite computer games from growing up (courtesy of the phenomenon known as the world wide web)   it struck me how much graphics have moved on since the early days. The crazed ducks that were chasing me on Chuckie Egg now just seem to be indistinct blobs. Imagine if brand new computer games resembled those made in 1982? You'd ask for your money back. But with music its ok to continually rehash the past rather than looking to the future. The only genre that breeds any kind of feeling  within my aching bones that there is a future that isn't 3rd rate Joy Divisions is Grime. Here I have a new 12" on Tempa (the label that brought you that ace Skream thing). This is a 3 tracker by D1 and its totally great., Massive, wobbly bassline, a haunting synth line and lots of dub influence clanging percussion. Go Buy.
