Brand new CD from post shoegazer, post-rock, post-everything trio Below the Sea. Part of the ever growing Canadian post rock mountain, they have already released 2 albums of their swampy, melodic instrumental music. Featuring layers of plangent guitars, drums that at times recall Can and more ethereal effects than you can shake a stick at, this new CD has a nice variation of sounds including trumpet ,clarinet and keyboards (at one point the synth wash's are played by the golden fingers of Ulrich Schnauss). You sometimes kind of get the feeling you've heard it all before but it will definitely appeal to fans of Epic 45, Explosions in the Sky, The Workhouse, Durutti Column etc.Be the first to review this record.
