Ted Barnes
Underbelly
A Norman Records recommendation (27th November 2006)

This record left our Phil feeling ecstatic.
My album of the week would go to Ted Barnes. Apparently he's a national treasure according to the press sheets. Where do they keep the national treasures? Aren't they in the Tower of London? I hope they're feeding him anyway. Poor Ted.... he sounds terribly sombre anyway judging by this melancholic piece of neo classic wonder that's on my stereo now. Christ this is absolutely lush. He's some dude from Clayhill and this is is his first proper full length after the out of print mini album on Narwhal. Featuring more strings than you can shake a field of foxes at. This will appeal to you folks out there who love the European sounds of Yann Tierson. Fantastico. Well done Ted....
