Mui - Inside A Moving Machine

two and a half years after their debut album on keplar (mui – st / keplar 005) fabrizio tropeano and stefano d’incecco return with „inside a moving machine“.
as the young italian duo has to cope with the distance between milano and barcelona (the guy’s places to live these days), the music on this album, as well as the title tells stories about moving on, about traveling, about friendship, about the connecting pleasure of making music.
keplar described the style of  mui’s debut as “advanced post rock”. with their second album mui made one further step: on one hand this step obviously seeks towards jazz with multi-intrumentalist tropeano on guitar and bass, on the other hand the fragmented tunes, soundscapes and sinth quotes of laptop artist d’inncecco still remember the melancholy that lay within nineties postrock/electronics.
while their recording sessions in their both origin town pescara / italy, them both were supported by several guest musicians including the hungarian electronic artist robert bere ;) aka tigrics (tigrics – compact disco; keplar 003), whose plans to cooperate with mui gained during  a germany/austria tour of mui and tigrics in april ’04. stefano d’ amelio plays clarinet and sax on several tracks and michelangelo del conte peformes all analog drums
on the album. working with these different musicians even expanded mui’s sound diversity. the whole album sounds more like a band now, because they succeed in catching the energy of their live performances on the studio tracks . with “inside a moving machine” mui once more de-blur the picture of italy’s music scene – with another impressing spot.
