New double CD by Windy and Carl. Its always a shame when a beloved pet dies but in this case I guess some good has come out of it. Windy and Carl hadn't produced much new music in the past few years but following the death of their lovable scamp Flea they decided to re-enter the recording studio to turn their grief into a series of guitar drones backed by the unmistakable sound of the rat bag on walkies in his salad days. This part takes up one half of the double CD pack. The other CD is a non dog related album called 'The Dream House'. Phil describes this opus as 'the sound of someone who has fallen asleep with their finger on a keyboard'. I guess up to a point he's right though I have to mention that there's some quite beautiful drones in this record. Its all extremely minimal but thoroughly charming and its good to have them back. The CD comes with a booklet detailing in words and pictures the life of the dog as well as the recording of the album. On Kranky.Be the first to review this record.
