Melt Banana/ The Fantomas - Split

Split by Melt Banana/ The Fantomas

I got in trouble the other week for daring to just review a CD on the merits of It's packaging alone. This person believed me to be some sort of ignorant wanker. Now we have a Fantomas split with Jap nutters Melt Banana which is housed in some great packaging (owners of releases on this Italian Unhip imprint will know what I mean with the distinctive mounted photo design) but the music is tops as well. Even if the two tunes pan out to the extraordinary length of 2 and a half minutes collectively. Fantomas are responsible for a brief slice of ridiculous psychodrama before t'banana unleash a torrent of yipping thrash jazz-core that makes me purr with delight (It's called 'Cat In Red') Brilliant! The CD is about as big as a Neanderthal's thumbnail & the vinyl is the size of a CD. Bizarro!
