Remember that new Dirty Three album I was banging on about the other week? The huge song and dance being made about it is that Chan Marshall sings on one track. Lordy me there's a song with vocals. Who'd have thought that? Has it been done before? Anyway to save you the both of buying the album to witness this remarkable phenomenon first hand you can now get a CD single with said track and a new track for a laugh. It's nice enough gear with her unmistakable voice, some lush strings and it bimbles along steadily without causing any great harm or offence but neither does it do a right lot. Reasonably pleasing though at the same time.Dirty Three introduce vocals for the first time ever in the form of the new single Great Waves featuring none other than the quite brilliant Cat Power on vocals.
