I've never been depressed instantly by a song except when I last heard 'Ghosts' by Japan. Such a mournful pretentious bag of toss said I at the time. For some reason the man Sylvian is feted by many. A bad new romantic Bryan Ferry I say. He crops up on the new single by the wonderful Blonde Redhead, the sublime 'Equus', on a different version of 'Misery'. Bloody pointless but at least he doesn't plunge me into the depths of suicidal despair this time. There's also a French version of 'Melody' which is sooo sexy. and a video on the enhanced CD. Also on sexy grey vinyl 7" (with the Sylvian guest spot on the flip) for less than the price of half a lager. Smashing. On 4AD who are taking a break from milking Pixies to death this week.Be the first to review this record. Best reviewer each month gets £10 off their next order!
