My brother gave Jeffrey Lewis a lift recently & said he was a lovely bloke & not at all like most of the wankers that inhabit the music industry. Anyway when you hear first hand how nice someone is you tend to want to like their music more (yes I'm that shallow). Apparently James Blunt is a lovely feller - so nice he gave his (now ex) girlfriend half his publishing and she is now making a fortune. Anyway I digress. Here is the new CD from Jeffrey and (his brother) Jack Lewis. Its kind of like the other Jeffrey Lewis stuff I've heard before - lo-fi whimsical storytelling with the kind of guitar strums and violin scrapes once found on a label called K. It has the whole slightly nerdy vocal thing that only Americans seem to be able to get away with. On Rough TradeBe the first to review this record.
