A squeaky trumpet introduces the next CD in this Belgian box of delights. This is as far as I can gather a split CD between We vs Death and Tom Sweetlove. Anyway its a split release between Matamore and Zabel and this is a split review between Clint and Fats. The first 4 songs are by We vs Death and this fits snugly into the brand of energetic post rock as peddled by Planquez, Emery Reel, Los Planetos del Agua. Obscure enough references for you? Ok lets say its 65 Days of Static with the noise and feedback replaced by trumpets. Parping horns - you've got to love them. It might as well be all be by the same band as the Tom Sweeetlove stuff is very similar. Again its brooding post rock with chiming guitars and skittering beats building up to a crescendo. A bit less frantic than the We vs Death stuff. They even use an accordion at one point. More quality post rock from the Europeans.Be the first to review this record.
