So Guided by Voices split up earlier this year sparking a mass suicide pact by writers at Magnet magazine (only thwarted when they were coaxed down off their ledge with the promise of a new Death Cab for Cutie album and a Neutral Milk Hotel re-issue). Phew - for a minute there I thought I'd never have to read about Yo La Tengo again. Anyway ha ha. Here's a new 6 track Robert Pollard 7" (and CD) on the Fading Captain series and it sounds exactly like Guided By Voices/Robert Pollard. I'm sure most of you out there know the drill but if you don't its kind of like a drunken Beatles with the fi set to mid. Quality control on this one is about amber.
