More debut releases by folks you've never heard of.... David Mysterious up next with their debut 5 track CD EP on Peski Records. Nice wonky pop ala Syd Barrett and King Missile with a healthy dose of the old Flying Nun sound. Well worth checking out! This is the debut EP from up and coming one man band David Mysterious on the Peski record label. By day he is a mild mannered Aberystwyth native working in a record shop, flogging jewel cases to an unsuspecting public. By night, he tears off his wage-slave clothes and reinvents himself as David Mysterious - a brooding electric folk minstrel who describes his look as "dirty Ned Flanders", armed only with a box full of dusty old psychedelic 7"s, and an imagination fed by B-movies and cartoon comics. ‘Troubador of the Unknown’ includes two Welsh language songs 'Caradog Pugh' and 'El Toro', as well as three in English: 'Red Matthew', 'Steve McOueen' and 'Dirty Thort'. The tunes on the EP are described by Mysterious as "a collection of psych pop gems sprinkled with a liberal dose of aliens, space-cats and Bergerac". They have already been played regularly on Radio 1, Radio Wales and C2 and the EP is the perfect introduction to one of Wales’ most promising and exiting artists.
