Bloomin Truck records. What they giving me here? The Schla La Las, that's who. All this 60's Spector-beat action, all-girl Dusty Springfield & Shangri-la's revival stuff disguised as shambling indie band sometimes leaves me a tad cold. This debut effort's not at all bad to be fair, the sounds & arrangements just erring on the side of plagiaristic & repetitive at times but the skeletally bouncy tunes & the youthful harmonies are heartwarming. The 6 tunes on this demos CD should keep folk who dug The Pipettes happy for instance. Having said all that, 'Hawaiian', the wonderful 3rd track is worth the price alone...........CD only!
