Diefenbach - Set & Drift

Set & Drift by Diefenbach

3...according to our on Thu 30 Nov, 2006.

Diefenbach release their first album on Wall of Sound. It starts off sounding uncannily like Gary Numan. Once they've got that out their system they get all maudlin and shimmery on your ass. Good post rock with interesting vocals. As we said last time, American Analogue Set spring to mind. There's interesting backing vocals  - Phil was right when he said The Temptations. It's quite a varied album with some pulsy electronics alongside the guitars. Nice meandering post rock with hints of focus. There's a sticker on the front that says 'F**cking Awesome. Essential'. NME - their words -not mine.
