This record left our Brian feeling happy.

The Beta Band ground to halt in a flurry of music industry contempt, showcasing the shackles around their ankles, yet making consistently good music right to the end, if somewhat lacking the initial blazing inventiveness of their 1st E.P.s. The distinctive, flawless voice of Steve Mason, band figurehead & dour Scot is back, in the guise of a new King Biscuit Time single, 'C I AM 15'. A lolloping clickety-clappity beat, beloved of the R&B clan a couple of years back is underlaid with subtle some organic psychedelic wallpaper & a sleepy dancehall feel with a rampant politico raggamuffin-rap from top toaster Topcat. The extra tracks do the trick too - mellow Beta-esque slices of whimsy. Let's hope the man don't fuck him over this time...... No Style recs do the do's with two 7"s & a CD fing.
