When I was a wee nipper of 16 or so  - I did work experience at a bank. One day I heard an old feller that worked there say 'I just live for t'weekends now'. I thought it was the saddest and most depressing thing I'd ever heard. What about the other 5 days!! Well that's what happens I guess once reality hits and you start getting ground down by everything. So as a result I just cannot wait for 5.30pm tonight! The reason I'm dribbling on about all this is Hard Fi's new single is called 'Living for the Weekend'. I quite like their other singles but this one is a bit straightforward  - the kind of pop/rock dragged out by local radio stations across the country on friday afternoons. Personally I'd prefer to hear 'Friday I'm in Love'. It comes on 2 CD's and a 7".

About the humble CD single:

Another digital format and even though they can hold 80 minutes of information (like a CD album would) record companies only fill up a small portion of the disc. Sometimes only 1 or 2 tracks on there totalling 5 minutes or so. It's like going to a restaurant and getting a plate of food with 2 green beans on and wondering where the rest of your meal is. Sometimes they're lovingly packaged though and when the music is good then you're into a winner. Also you get videos on there sometimes which you can watch on your computer. That is excellent.
