King Creosote seems to have become quite popular in the last few years but we are sat here trying to figure out why. He writes chirpy rather than sad songs that float along nicely but on first listen don't have that wow factor of the likes of James Yorkston, Adrian Crowley or Bonnie Prince Billy. Instead of being sad or deep the songs are more like chirpy ditties so that they sound more like Damien Rice and that kind of stuff.. . Anyway this new album is all nice and homespun sounding and the songs seem to be of a pretty decent quality throughout.
