I really quite enjoyed this new Songs of Green Pheasant CD - its winsome acoustic music that sounds like it has been recorded in a fog. It has a lovely hazy feel to it. The vocals recall Simon and Garfunkel or Kings of Convenience and the first few songs do recall the latter quite heavily but they have a much more reverb drenched sound. Later on there are some wonderfully haunting songs - hints of Jose Gonzales and Iron and Wine but drenched with a northern English melancholy like the weird quiet end of Babybird or stuff like Gnac and the Montgolfier Brothers. Really lovely and highly recommended. On Fat Cat.Be the first to review this record. Best reviewer each month gets £10 off their next order!
