Why I have such a liking for Cranebuilders I dunno. They fill the gap between Belle & Sebastian & Tindersticks for me. "Did that gap ever need filling?" asks our musical dentist. The guitar's raw & slightly discordant, the singer's got a slightly wonky burr to his lovelorn lyrics & 'Public Space' as a whole rambles by, catching my heart strings as always, like the ghost of someone you'd forgotten you loved.
