This record left our Brian feeling ecstatic.
We have a couple of rather super CDs in by Casiotone For The Painfully Alone (on Tomlab). This is great stuff, namely because it takes the melancholic songwriting skills of the likes of Grandaddy & Death Cab For Cutie & puts 'em through a low fi electro shredder. It sounds so fresh & simple & is just begging to pull your heartstrings. These tunes could so easily be pissed out in 2 minutes by lesser hands but there's such SKILL & real WARMTH here it hurts. Once again, someone totally restoring my faith in indie. Give at least one of 'em a try cos they've made my afternoon! We got Twinkle Echoes and Pocket Symphonies!
