Keyboard Rebel - Northern Sherpa

Northern Sherpa by Keyboard Rebel

4...according to our on Tue 28 Nov, 2006.

Two things from Keyboard Rebel who have had stuff out on Twisted Nerve. The latest release is a 7"/CDs (called Northern Sherpa) which has a home-spun Manchester type sound (see Aidan Smith, early Badly Drawn Boy, Alfie). Charming winsome lo-fi pop. The earlier 10" is different in that the first track has lady vocals. The other traits are the same - quirky acoustic pop - there's more diversity (one tune is particularly noisy). The strongest tune comes right at the end with 'Keyboard Rebel and Ghost Lady' which features horns & flutes and has a bit of the Jim Noir about it. Both records are on Slick Nine Records.
