First up Prefuse 73 vs The Books. Well I wasn't massive on either of their last records but the stuff before has been great. This doesn't disappoint though. Its basically Scott Herren taking sound sources from The Books (and boy do they have some great sounds) and creating a few new tunes with them. The opening track is a killer. Its Herren at his best with messed up banjo and sampled I'm Not in Love style vocal samples. The remainder is a pleasant stroll through cut up electro-hop-tronica avenue. 8 cuts in all that are highly recommended. On Warp.Be the first to review this record.
