I couldn't believe what I was hearing when someone said this band was called Mittens with Strings. Incredible. You could have knocked me over with a feather - couldn't believe it. Anyway its a 7" on Pickled Egg. This is a lovely - it reminds me of a lot of the stuff I used to listen to as a youth on K records. People like Lois etc. The sound is boxy and lo-fi but there is a folky edge to it with the bits of mandolin that float through the mix. I'm also thinking of the Canannes. The Cannanes first album when the dude from Ashtray Boy was the singer. Does that mean anything to anyone? If so this record is for you. Highly recommended.Be the first to review this record.
