Rating: unmoved This record left our Brian feeling unmoved.

The Rakes continue this frisky new wave business (just wait till we start slagging all this gear off in a month or two....) with a Squeeze meets Kaiser Chiefs cockney knees up of spiky, angular proportions. 'Retreat' is on V2 but obviously The Rakes are from good stock, providing enough genuine thrills & spills to move to yer feet & stir your post punk heart (I.E. they're a more lasting proposition than a lot of these bandwagon scaling chancers. (So many McDonalds refugees, so many....)
