Franz Ferdinand are Domino's new great white hopes. Its art school rock from Glasgow that has energy aplenty. Its all a bit theatrical. I'm not sure about it  myself. There's something about it I don't like -  the pretty boy posturing doesn't help but forgetting about that the music it just leaves me cold. However, the other two here are much more into it so it could just come down to personal taste. Darts Of Pleasure is on 3 formats for that Top 40 entry.

About the humble CD single:

Another digital format and even though they can hold 80 minutes of information (like a CD album would) record companies only fill up a small portion of the disc. Sometimes only 1 or 2 tracks on there totalling 5 minutes or so. It's like going to a restaurant and getting a plate of food with 2 green beans on and wondering where the rest of your meal is. Sometimes they're lovingly packaged though and when the music is good then you're into a winner. Also you get videos on there sometimes which you can watch on your computer. That is excellent.
