Listening to Dose One's verbal dexterity and musical daring get reigned in by the tasteful sophisto-pop lite of The Notwist on this new 13 & God collaboration is kind of an underground hip hop take on the catastrophe that a full on album length collaboration between Eminem and Elton John would bring. Ok, maybe at tad unfair. Its all tastefully arranged and pleasant to the ear but its all just kind of dull. The songs fiddle around pushing all the right buttons but going nowhere, its kind of like both bands were scared of going into territories unknown and so fell back onto something safe and comfortable.
