Cassetteboy is a bit of a god here at the towers. We were most excited about his new album. Alas the boys will have to wait to hear it but I can say it's rather fantastic. It's called Mick's Tape and it is a mix tape of sorts. We have lots of tunes chosen by Cassetteboy (eg Ivor Cutler, Jaylib, Curtis Mayfield, MDK, BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Squarepusher, Fennesz and lots more) punctuated with some fine moments of his hilarious tapecuttery and his masterful way of splicing things up to sound so very very wrong. I would like to warn you this is very filthy indeed and I'm not doing this to protect the minors out there. Nope. I know how much you like your filth so I'm advertising the fact and hopefully encouraging sales. Nice.... Anyway the man's a genius and this has some laugh out loud moments.
