Local studmuffin Matthew Robson AKA Random Number has been quiet of late. Since his last CD of abstract difficultisms stomped out on the Catmobile imprint ages ago, he's been honing his art to breaking point & the 1st fruits of his labour arrive as an excellent new 5 tracker on Vacuous Pop. 'EP Charge' is a snaking, melodic beast that veers from mid period Autechre locking horns with their tune loving conscience to numbers that graze in pastures previously munched on by Richard D James era Aphex B4 reminding us to rush out & buy "the very best of EU" (this doesn't exist by the way....) . That's not to say the cheeky young scamp has robbed any ideas. This is totally fresh & haunting stuff inspired by only the best in intelligent electronics. Truly his finest work to date. 10"/CD singlet.Be the first to review this record. Best reviewer each month gets £10 off their next order!
