Its all well and good being cool but cool means nothing if you don't bother to write good songs. One of the things about Ambulance Ltd is that I've noticed is they do have the odd great song - just like Interpol or any of the bands that are truly great rather than being just mediocre. Obviously because they are from New York they are naturally cool and will have the British Music Press dribbling. Luckily the band have taken their 'classic pop' influences from the likes of The Go-Betweens and The Smiths so even if this album is a bit over-polished and overwrought at times, there's enough stellar hooks to carry them through. Don't judge it on the first two tracks either - the really good bits come later. On TVT.Be the first to review this record. Best reviewer each month gets £10 off their next order!
