Hello......Clint here with a massive pile of stuff. First up Gavouna 'Stings and Dum Machines' on Arable. Well the worst thing about this is the title. Once you've got past that you get an extremely interesting album which if I was forced at gunpoint to place in a category, I'd place it in folktronica. But it's not all cut up acoustic guitars and twinkly piano's. There's some great drums, glockenspiels and strings on here. Track 3 could kill a man at several paces - its utterly great. There's bits of Philip Glass here, Brian Eno there...even hinting at the beautiful horn melodies of your Burt Bacharach's in places.Be the first to review this record.
