Jesus. When are bands gonna do summat fresh? Why are Poptones signing all these two-bit chancers like The Paddingtons & now Thee Unstrung? Debut single, 'Contrary Mary', is hewn of the same tatty cloth as The Libertines. I.E. chantalong pub rock, slightly shambolic & rather derivative. Not to say it doesn't have flourishes of greatness I.E. the rather fabulous middle 8. But all in all not of any interest to anyone outside this incestuous & self-congratulating "scene" that nu-cool London has invented to feel better about It's non-existant musical heritage. Hmmmmn.
