It's good to have everyone here.... Anyhoo The Concretes have a new single out. It's a 4 track CD single or dbl 7" and very lovely it is too. Am warming to the idea of Xmas singles. Though I don't like many of 'em I think it's a good thing. This is rather a lovely thing though; strings, organs and prettyness which bring Mazzy Star to mind and that kind of thing. The shuffle version of Seems Fine is worth the price of entry alone...

About the humble CD single:

Another digital format and even though they can hold 80 minutes of information (like a CD album would) record companies only fill up a small portion of the disc. Sometimes only 1 or 2 tracks on there totalling 5 minutes or so. It's like going to a restaurant and getting a plate of food with 2 green beans on and wondering where the rest of your meal is. Sometimes they're lovingly packaged though and when the music is good then you're into a winner. Also you get videos on there sometimes which you can watch on your computer. That is excellent.
