Album's are far too long these days. Its the fault of the CD. 40 minutes is about all I can stomach of any band. We once played a My Morning Jacket CD here at the towers - when it started I was clean shaven. By the time it was finished I had a full beard. Boom Boom. Have I used that one before? Probably. Anyway here we are again with two sprawling albums from My Morning Jacket to wade through. Anyway CH1 'The Sandworm Cometh' is early recordings, b sides, comp tracks etc recorded between 97-99 and CH2 'Learning' is early recordings, b sides, demo's. So if you're a fan you're going to want these. They do sometimes have a way with a killer tune but there's always too much filler for me. For the uninitiated Neil Young, Miracle Legion and Songs Ohia are fellow travellers. The Darla archives contain many unreleased early My Morning Jacket recordings, the best of which have been compiled by My Morning Jacket’s Jim James for release along side all the hard to find favorites previously available only on singles, compilations and an early European only ep release. Track list: 1. Weeks Go By Like Days (from Darla 100 4CD) 2. What Will I Do? (from Bad Jazz UK 7”) 3. White Rabbit (from Bad Jazz UK 7”) 4. Downtown (previously unreleased) 5. I Just Wanted to Be Your Friend (previously unreleased) 6. Time Never Gets (previously unreleased) 7. They Ran (Acoustic) (from Heartbreakin Man ep: EU release only) 8. Evelyn Is Not Real (Be-mixed) (from Heartbreakin Man ep: EU release only) 9. Isobella with the White Umbrella (from Bad Jazz UK 7”) 10. Josta Dreams and Bitter Hands (previously unreleased) 11. Somebody Cares About The Maestro (from Gold Hole UK 7") 14. Rocket Man (from Little Darla has a Treat for You v.12 CD)
