Remember that Grime compilation that I didn't like very much? I said it was harsh, mechanical, soulless & empty? Rephlex must have read my review (hehehe!) cos Volume 2 is here 'n' ya know what? It's wonderful. Everything the first one wasn't. Another 3 artists on here - Kode 9, Loefah & Digital Mystikz all showcasing the other side to the Grime coin. Warm morphing sub-bass, drifting eastern touches, tight punchy breaks & all in all a feel completely at odds with the first collection. Got to say I still don't think the genre's half as revolutionary as the scene heads would have you believe but I just reckon this is a quality collection of great late night organic dance music with real soul & integrity.
