The same old blues. So said Proud Mary a few years ago. How could they have forseen the barrage of blues based rock subjected to us this year. Sons and Daughters have a bluesy, swampy sound but are at least taking their music into places previously occupied by the likes of The Fall and Quickspace . I'm sure these lot will be great live. I can only summise that this is really not my kind of thing but the way the others are dancing  around the room, tapping feet, banging on tables and generally whooping up it must be a jolly good sign. On Domino.

About the humble CD single:

Another digital format and even though they can hold 80 minutes of information (like a CD album would) record companies only fill up a small portion of the disc. Sometimes only 1 or 2 tracks on there totalling 5 minutes or so. It's like going to a restaurant and getting a plate of food with 2 green beans on and wondering where the rest of your meal is. Sometimes they're lovingly packaged though and when the music is good then you're into a winner. Also you get videos on there sometimes which you can watch on your computer. That is excellent.
