I have no time for bands who name themselves after songs and Ella Guru are no different. The name suggest some kind of alignment to Beefheart and er interesting challenging music but other than an out of place and slightly embarrassing guest spot from ex Magic Band member Jimmy Carl Black this album couldn't be further from Captain Beefheart's music. Its laid back summery Americana that recalls Neil Young, Matthew's Southern Comfort and most notably Lambchop. Like that Nashville 113 piece's last couple of albums this is somewhat of a snore fest.
