Morrissey. The miserable moaning bastard is back again with the 2nd single from his "You are the Quarry". This daft prat is still peddling the same old Smiths-ian cliches only he can pull off cos he's Mozzer innit? So he's forgiven cos no-one would try & sound like this these days. It all goes over my head really. I loved The Smiths but his solo stuff all sounds like a Smiths tribute band to me. However, this is classic Mozzer, catchy, strummy & very distinctive with nice strings & stuff. He's carved his niche in the pop world & it looks like he's there to stay forever, a bit like The Divine Comedy really. One of the B-sides sounds a bit Bond theme-ish & is really quite lovely actually! "First Of The Gang To Die" is out on 7", CDs & DVD thru Attack!Be the first to review this record.
