And finally, my single of the week. Not from a band you'd expect me to rate that highly to boot! The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster have quietly been entertaining me for a couple of years now but I've kept it quiet for fear of mirthsome chuckling & prodding from my cynical, jaded colleagues who only listen to high pitched sonic dog whistles & industrial samba music these days. Not a cartoonish Brighton based amalgam of The Birthday Party & Dead Kennedys then. Imagine Nick Cave fronting The Fall during their halcyon Rough Trade period then yr getting close to what "I Could Be An Angle" sounds like. Catchy as heck, just short enough to leave you gasping for more & partnered with some wicked little B-sides. Totally on their own are this lot. They like the bands I admire & wear their influences on their sleeves. And so they bloody should. Ignore at yr peril! Limited Pic Disc 7"/CDs/DVDBe the first to review this record.
