Yes! a new Havergal album. Their 'Lungs for the Race' album from 3 or so years back was my favourite album ever. Yep I love it so much I have two copies just in case one wears out. This, though was nothing when compared to their debut 7" 'How I Do' which is simply the best 7" made by anyone ever. I'm speaking the truth. I'm a sad little obsessed man. So this new one is kind of ok. It starts off in scintillating form. It has the classic Havergal sound   - dry guitars like Pinback but with a singer whose voice is chocolate brown like the Red House Painters bloke. It sounds lovely. But each time I listen to it half way through I kind of lose interest - in between the bit with the pianos and the bit he sings 'Hallelujah' which is a very un Havergal lyric. Unlike most records I'm going to give this chance after chance until I'm forced to love it as I want a favourite band and Havergal are the nearest damn thing to that in my pathetic little life.
